Thomas M. Murphy, a graduate of Cornell University and Rutgers Law School, has a passion for all issues confronting our aging loved ones. His vision for his firm is to be a valued resource for families dealing with the difficult and complex issues of long term custodial care. A member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Tom is certified by the Veteran's Administration and has become a leading authority on Veteran's Aid and Attendance Pension Benefits. A member of the New Jersey Bar, he has experience with prominent law firms in Morris and Somerset Counties, and several major corporations based in New Jersey holding various leadership positions as a human resource executive. He is a certified instructor of Elder Law for social workers and case managers. Tom is very active in the Morris County Care Givers Coalition and the United Way of Northern New Jersey. He is a former board member of the New Jersey Foundation for the Blind and the Guardianship Association of New Jersey. He is also active with the New Jersey Alzheimer's Association. Tom is a Fellow of the New Jersey Partnership for Leadership, has chaired the Core Curriculum Commission for the New Jersey Department of Education, and has served as a member of the Morris School District Board of Education. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, served as a board member for Teen Pride of Morristown, has chaired the Warren County Business Alliance, and served as the first president of the Warren County Human Relations Commission. Tom and his wife Sharon live in the Butterworth section of Morris Township with their two twenty-something aged sons. Tom is a past board member for Morris County Youth Hockey and Morristown National Little League. |
